The city was amazing and beautiful and the people were friendly with tourists. I reserved a really cheap hotel because I had little budget, but despite the prices it was really great and I also met a new friend, that by my solo trip, I think that was amazing;)
Posted: April 19, 2024Ankara has become an indispensable city for me because my cousin lives there, and I didn't have to pay any fees to stay. It's a city steeped in history, especially in Ulus. The Parliament and Anıtkabir are definitely must-see places. The locations where the Battle of Sakarya took place are also noteworthy. Before climbing Ankara Castle, there are many museums you can visit. There are many famous streets like Kızılay and Tunalı, all of which you can explore on foot. Walking through the streets is the most beautiful way to understand a city. :)

Ankara is not exactly for the tourist looking for İstanbul-like attractions. It’s the capital city and you can feel safe. But you mat he surprised about how fast people are. It’s just us trying to balance our rhythm.
Posted: May 6, 2024In some neighborhoods you are safe(ex. Bahçeli and Tunalı) but not in all( like keçiören and etlik) as a women. If you stay in the popularly youthful areas you would be good no matter what time it is but it is always a good thing to be aware and safe

Ankara is a safe place for women. I live in GOP which is the heart of the city. You can eat in nice and luxurious restaurants, chill in nice bars and cafes or pubs. You can shop in big shopping malls.
Posted: February 14, 2024Ankara is a pretty much safe place for a woman to travel. Some parts might be sketchy at night but I mostly feel safe while I’m out at night. I can recommend you to spend most of your time in Çankaya. Because it’s the safest place in Ankara. The most famous restaurant to eat is ASPAVA. There are a lot of Turkish food options to choose from. When you order your food they’ll give you salad, çiğköfte, fries, cacık (yogurt drink with cucumbers in it), two kinds of turkish desserts and tea for free with the food you’ve ordered. You don’t need a big budget, medium will be enough. The safest place to accommodate is Çankaya. You guys should avoid places like Ulus or Altındağ. They’re are kind of sketchy, because there are a lot of night clubs (not the regular ones but pavyons, they’re just for men) and it won’t be safe at night. Taxi drivers are mostly kind and taxis are very safe in Ankara, but it’s not a cheap option. You can use public transportation instead. It’s way cheaper but you might need to walk too. Because public transportation in Ankara is not the best… You can visit mausoleum of the founder of Turkish Republic, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk… You can visit Anadolu Medeniyetleri Müzesi, Pul Müzesi, Ankara Kalesi… You can go to Tunalı and Kızılay. If there is an exhibition you might visit Cermodern. And if you have a friend, you can see the METU campus.
