Is Singapore good for solo travel?

Safety:

Safety:Very safe

Singapore is renowned for its stringent laws and regulations which contribute to its position as one of the safest cities for solo female travelers. The crime rate is very low, and respect for individual rights and public order is generally a norm. The transportation system is also safe and reliable, even late into the night. As with any country, it's always important to exercise usual safety precautions, but overall, Singapore provides a secure environment for solo female travelers.
Transport:

Transport:Very easy

Navigating through Singapore is a breeze. The city-state has a well-structured and highly efficient public transportation system that includes buses, taxis, and a metro system, all of which cover extensive areas including tourist destinations. Most of the signs are in English which makes it easier to understand for an international traveler. Additionally, walking around is quite pleasant due to the compact and well-planned infrastructure, especially in the downtown area.
Things to do:

Things to do:Fascinating

Singapore is incredibly rich in activities for a solo female traveler. There are many spellbinding modern attractions such as Gardens by the Bay, Marina Bay Sands, and the Art Science Museum. You can also indulge in some retail therapy at Orchard Road, or experience the diverse cultures in districts like Chinatown, Little India and Kampong Glam. Don't forget to visit the Singapore Botanic Gardens, a UNESCO World Heritage, or Sentosa for some fun adventures. For foodies, a trip to the Hawker Centers is a must for a chance to taste Singapore's multicultural cuisine. Despite being a modern city, Singapore is also very green - there are numerous parks for outdoor activities, and walking routes to explore the city's history and architecture.
Food:

Food:Excellent

Singapore offers an incredible food scene. Its rich multicultural heritage gave rise to a diverse range of cuisine. From Indian, Malay, Chinese, to Western cuisine, there's something for everyone. Its popular hawker centres feature a vast array of affordable and delicious local dishes such as Hainanese chicken rice, chili crab, and Laksa. Even if you're a vegetarian/vegan, or have specific dietary preferences or restrictions, you'll find a multitude of options. The city's vibrant café and fine dining scene is equally impressive, offering a dizzying array of international gastronomy. You can find anything from distinguished Michelin-star establishments to hidden local gems. Whether you're a foodie looking for the best gastronomic experience or someone who simply enjoys good food, you'll be absolutely spoilt for choice in Singapore.
Budget:

Budget:Moderate

Singapore offers a mix of high-end luxury options and budget-friendly choices. While accommodation, dining at fine restaurants, and shopping can be expensive, there are affordable alternatives available too. Enjoy street food at hawker centers, explore numerous free attractions like the Gardens by the Bay, and use efficient public transportation to save costs. However, compared to neighboring Southeast Asian countries, Singapore could still be considered slightly pricier.

Solo travel experience

I traveled to Singapore for one weekend from the Philippines. It was a last minute trip and I felt better booking the trip knowing I had family there at that time. I stayed in a little hotel away from all of the action and I took Lyft for most of my time in Singapore. Next time I will book closer to Sentosa and downtown so it is more convenient. I felt relatively safe traveling on my own and would definitely go back!

Singapore

Solo travel experience

It’s the safest city I’ve ever been. Even during late night, walking solo in little streets feels safe. The rules in Singapore are strict and this leads to a very respectful environment. If you cross the road with a man, the man will do two steps on the opposite side than you to avoid touching you by any chance. They want to avoid troubles. Enjoy the city (which is amazing) in the safest mood even if you are a female solo traveller!

Solo travel experience

I felt safe! There were so many things to do and it was very very easy to get around especially as a solo female traveler! It was quite pricey, food was good and I usually would get around via car service like Uber, or walking. Sometimes the metro/train too!

Singapore is a great place to visit, however it is quite expensive. I felt very safe walking around, even at night. There is plenty of things to do for a couple of days but you don’t generally need any more time than that. I visited Sentosa island to go to Universal Studios which was fun but very expensive. Marina bay is definitely a must see and there is a free light show there at night. I stayed at Wanderloft Capsule Hostel which I would rate a 3/5. The bed was good and quite enclosed so you could have privacy however the bathrooms and other areas of the accomodation definitely need some maintenance as it did not feel clean. The transport on the train is super cheap and easy to navigate so I never needed to take a taxi or Grab car, even getting to and from the airport.

Great City to explore. An Overall really safe place. Accomodation is expensive, but Food can be cheap and delicious in the Hawker Centers. Drinks in the evening are mostly expensive as well, especially in some rooftop bars, but it's worth it🤭

I had a great experience. It was a good size for seeing around in short time. People are kind. City is clean. Food is tasty. Only bad point is that many things are more expensive. But you can get affordable price and tasty food at hookers.

I felt very safe, I went everywhere, late at night alone and never felt threatened. Singapore is not cheap, but everything there is affordable. I ate at Hawker Centres, which are very good in terms of real, local cuisine.

I loved traveling to Singapore, I've stayed there for an exchange experience as a student and it was just amazing. Definitely recommend mala food if you like spicy food and definitely try indian food and don't forget to try kaya toast with egg for breakfast! Also, my favorite area was kampong glam, but overall I enjoyed Singaporean contrasts.

Safe to roam around alone. Not much of a concern. Stay to take public transport. Most people can speak English thus communication will not be a problem. Money changer available at airport, town. Hotel rate reasonably

always take reasonable safety precautions, but don't worry! almost no crime ever occurs here. feel free to walk around at night, as our streets are well lit. in the very unlikely case of an emergency, police are quick to respond.

Singapore is super safe for women! Guys are largely respectful. Foodie paradise. We have excellent international cuisine, you name it we have it done really really well (price tag tho may be the issue here haha) To save money eat at our hawkers!!! Awesome food at a decent price point. Avoid cafes!!! Food is expensive and at times not reliably delicious. Gmaps is very reliable here. For transport, food delivery you can use Grab.

Singapore is extremely safe for both young and female solo travellers! Many would say that Singapore is rather expensive but in my opinion it is because tourists aren’t finding the local gems. Eating out in Singapore can be extremely cheap if you go to the right places such as coffee shops or hawker centres and if you are interested in eating authentic food these are the places to be as many owners of these stores have been honing their skills for the past 30 years. Furthermore you do not need to pay to appreciate Singapore’s attractions. Things like the Marina Bay area are a sight to behold and it’s all for free!

Singapore

Very safe for solo female travellers, like you can literally leave your laptop in a cafe, go to the toilet, and no one would take it. Not much to do for a long trip so try to make it a short one. You can spend a day in sentosa and maybe 1-2 days exploring all the other tourist attractions. It’s pretty expensive to eat around these tourist areas though, especially restaurants. Opt for hawkers centres, food courts, and coffee shops for more affordable dining!

A sunny tropical island perfect for those who are escaping the winter season in their own countries! Lovely people and so much food that are cheap and good. Would definitely come back again although it’s expensive.

Go to Sentosa and stroll along the beaches. Depending on when you're there, check out a festival or art exhibition, as well as visit some rooftop bars, walk around Marina Bay, go to the Gardens by the Bay in the evening and walk through Tiong Bahru. Singapore is amazing, I used to live there.

About me

Hi! I'm a 30-year-old lady who's so into travelling. However, being brown, it's not that easy convincing my parents about travelling solo unless she can be certain I am in good hands. Just seeing how this app can help me out! In any ways, I'd love to host on days that I am around in SG. However, I noticed this app lags quite frequently. Hence, if you need me, I am merely a Telegram text away! @tamtoomi
