Solo female traveling in oslo. Always felt super safe even at night. Highly recommand taking a walking tour as it is an easy to make travel buddies. During the summer, I enjoyed taking the waterbus to visit the islands of the Oslofjord. It's an inexpensive lovely day trip especially for spending the day at the beach.
Posted: March 26, 2024Experienced: June, 2023I didn't always feel safe in Oslo but I felt safer than in Romania . There's a card you can buy to travel in different zones of Oslo , there's an app too I think. Good food and drinks at Vulkan and cafés on Akerbrygge. Deichman biblioteks should be on your list too. Norwegians are friendly, nice people and their smile makes you remember them.
Posted: March 14, 2024Experienced: June, 2019I had an amazing time and regret not staying longer. I highly recommend the Folk Museum, the Viking Ship Museum, Vigeland Park and a walk by the water to see the beautiful Opera House. I managed to try one nice dish - a Norwegian waffle with brown cheese, cream, and jam. It was delicious. Initially, I felt incredibly uneasy being alone, but I felt safe and comfortable exploring the city.
Posted: August 7, 2023I was there just last year. It is really a safe place. I never had any problems. Public transportation there is great. I really loved the Nobel Peace Museum and the Fram Museum. I stayed at the Citybox Oslo.

hey guys! i had a trip to oslo for one night and i got only 24 hours to see the city. It was enough for me because i got so tired from the walking/cold and i think i had the best moments of my life. First i wanna warn you about Oslo Torp airport, it is 1.5 hours away from the city and it was expensive than the plane😅 The weather was so so so nice when i get there. Almost everyone know english so it is nice to ask people. I started from the opera house, watched the sunset at the top, walked to the marina for 1 hour and it was night for me. I did couchsurfing in a guys house and he was lovely i felt so safe in Oslo. I didnt buy any food in Oslo because the guy cooked for me and i had other snacks through the day☺️ But i can say it is quite expensive. Next day i went to Lake Sognsvann and walked around it. It was frozen and people would ski and jug with their dogs! After i return to the city i went into the Munch Museum and i must say you should definitily go and see. That was my trip to Oslo:))

Oslo is pretty safe I would say. But there are of course some places I would not go alone at night , like Grønland, Tøyen and Jernbanetorget. Nonetheless, most crimes happening in Oslo is usually gang related and between members..
Posted: May 10, 2024It's a great city and surely. The city has an area where people addicted to drugs gather but they are not violent and everything is controlled by the police all the time. I live in a very safe area so I'm not used to hearing insecurity but of course there is like everywhere in the world

I spent eight days in Oslo in June. The weather was amazing, and of course it was light until very late. The parks, palaces, museums, saunas, food and people are wonderful. The waterfront area is full of great restaurants. I loved it and plan to return there.
Posted: June 10, 2023Oslo is a beautiful city, ideal for exploring on your own. I walked everywhere, except for taking a ferry ride to the Viking Ship Museum from the city center. I lived near the Summer Palace, in a charming area. I recommend exploring the palace grounds, the Botanical Gardens, the Munch museum, Vigeland and the park with over 200 sculptures, Dramstredet area full of old houses, as well as visiting the Akershus fortress and castle. I found the food to be expensive.
