It’s very safe, I have been coming here since I was born and never heard of any problems. It used to be a very humble town, not it’s a very touristic town. Always very safe and friendly to everyone who wants to visit

Ericeira is a small town close to the middle for the coastline of Portugal. I can very warmly recommend travelling there alone. There were many solo travellers, quite a few of them women. It is mostly for surfing but also for going out. The town and nightlife is not too big but surfers do know how to party. Also, it is pretty touristic. 
You will find different kind of hostels, some up the hill seemed beautiful. But I stayed in a cheaper option in town and it was comfortable enough for me.
